Wednesday 19th September 2018 – Leicester Writers’ Showcase at the Leicester Central Library, 7pm to 9pm.
The Leicester Writers’ Showcase is held at Leicester Central Library on the third Wednesday of each month and gives readers an opportunity to meet local authors, discover new books and engage with libraries in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
The September installment of LWS featured local writers who were placed in the Leicester Writes Short Story Prize. Launched in 2017 by Dahlia Publishing, the prize is open to published and unpublished writers nationally.
Writers read from their winning short stories and discussed their writing journeys as well as the art of writing short stories. Featured readers included 2017 runner-up, Siobhan Logan and 2018 shortlisted writers, John Fulton and N.F. Vania. The event was chaired by prize founder, Farhana Shaikh.
